    NAHA Montréal

The NAHA conference will take place in Montréal from April 28 – 30, 2026. The annual meeting of the North American Hostel Association is the most important event for the North American hostel industry.

Hostel operators as well as employees and partners from the industry meet in person to discuss the key issues facing the sector. These discussions and exchanges are incredibly important given all the challenges and changes facing tourism in general and hostels in particular.

The NAHA conference creates space to connect with like-minded people, to listen, to share, to learn and last but not least, to celebrate the wonderful and very worthy hostel industry.

Anna-Lena Rösler and Adrian Lopez are taking part in NAHA 2026 for ASSD Hotel and Hostel Software. ASSD GmbH is also sponsoring the joint trip to Québec that follows the event in Montréal.

We wish all participants, organizers and of course our Anna and Adrian every success, good luck and a fantastic time together with the North American hostel industry.

  • Happy Birthday

    Happy Birthday

Today we would like to wish a very special team member a very happy birthday: Adrian Lopez!

Adrian started as a working student at ASSD GmbH a few years ago and has been a permanent member of the ASSD development team since successfully completing his Master’s degree at the end of 2024.

As Adrian is interested in all areas and processes within the company and is always open to new ideas, he occasionally takes part in events or trade fairs.

In many ways, Adrian lives up to his Mexican heritage: he adores Mexican cuisine, finds food without spiciness rather pointless and loves the combination of lime and salt.

Adrian is less Mexican when it comes to the weather: he has absolutely no problem with winter and the cold. On the contrary, as soon as the temperatures are above freezing, he gets shorts and T-shirts out of the wardrobe.

We at ASSD are very happy that Adrian is part of the team, he is an asset in every respect 🤩.

Many thanks, dear Adrian, and best wishes for your birthday today!

  • A warm welcome

Bernhard has been supporting us since April 1, 2026 as Customer Success Manager in onboarding our new customers and supporting our existing customers.

With his experience in consulting and customer service for companies with complex software systems, he will be a perfect addition to our team.

We wish you a great start and much success with the upcoming projects!

  • Heavenly hostels

    Heavenly hostels

The annual conference and general meeting of the Heavenly Hostels took place in Pappenheim from March 17-19, 2026.

ASSD had the opportunity to present our software and technologies to the 300 members at the conference.

We would like to thank you for the invitation, the many interesting discussions and the stimulating exchange.

The heavenly hostels (we absolutely adore their name) describe themselves as follows:

The Heavenly Hostels are an association of guesthouses that maintain a Christian profile. If you are planning a trip, you are sure to find the right room in one of the Heavenly Hostels, whether you are looking for a cozy self-catering house, a youth hostel, a family recreation center, a conference house or a hotel.

They are often located in special places and are often perceived as “places of power” that are good for body and soul.

Thank you Pappenheim and thank you dear Himmlische Herbergen for the warm welcome and the great conversations. See you next time!

  • Reisenetz membership

    Reisenetz membership

The year 2026 is off to a great start – ASSD is now a member of Reisenetz, the German professional association for child and youth travel. We are very much looking forward to the future cooperation and lively exchange!

Safe travel for children and young people requires trust in quality – the Travel Network is one of the most active and largest networks in this area. Its members come from all areas of the industry. Together, they are particularly concerned about safe travel for children and young people.

The mission statement of the travel network speaks for itself:

“The members of Reisenetz are an independent network of commercial and non-profit organizations from Germany and abroad. We offer services for children and youth travel as tour operators, providers of educational programs, accommodation, transport companies, insurance or as consultants. Our members work in partnership with each other and the exchange of ideas between colleagues is important to us. We work for sustainable, educationally responsible travel for children and young people and create spaces for positive, development-promoting experiences. We advocate cultural diversity and the participation of all children and young people in children’s and youth travel.

Xenophobia and any kind of discrimination, especially against marginalized groups, is at odds with our international, cosmopolitan and democratic self-image. Compliance with and implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is a very important goal for us. A particular focus is on the prevention of sexualized violence in child and youth travel.

We are committed to fair competition and sensible legal framework conditions. We continuously support the professionalization of travel for children and young people and set binding standards for the quality of our members’ offers.”

    Participation in the reading festival

As a sponsor of the non-profit Munich association Lesefüchse e.V., ASSD GmbH was invited to take part in its 17th reading festival as an honorary reader.

The event took place at the Grünwald Forest Experience Center, just outside Munich. 200 children from various elementary school traveled to the event and spent a wonderful morning in and with nature.

Claudia Stolz read from Marianne Hofmann’s book “Die kleine Birke” on behalf of ASSD. Other sponsors and honorary readers were the St. Michaelsbund media house and the Munich police, who were the absolute highlight for the children with several chief marshals, a chief inspector and the vice president as well as the reading fox.

Language is the basis of everything we do (not just programming languages :-)). That is why it is very important to us to awaken a love of books, reading and stories.
