ASSD Restructures Its Management Team: Oliver Anschütz and Andreas Stolz, founder of ASSD, will lead the company together

The dual leadership structure brings together the hostel and hotel expertise of ASSD and SoftTec under the umbrella of FORUM Family Office. Locations, products, and points of contact will remain unchanged.

Unterhaching/Sonthofen, October 2, 2026 — ASSD GmbH, a provider of management software for hostels, youth hostels, and conference centers, has restructured its executive management. Oliver Anschütz, who has been managing director of SoftTec GmbH since 2021, recently joined ASSD as an additional managing director. Founder Andreas Stolz remains managing director. With this dual leadership structure, ASSD is setting the course for the future and ensuring a long-term, reliable partnership for its customers.

    Clear Division of Responsibilities
Oliver Anschütz will be responsible for all of ASSD’s operations going forward. Andreas Stolz will focus on product management and the further development of solutions. This will allow the founder—who installed the first ASSD reservation system for youth hostels in 1988—to focus fully on
what made ASSD great: software that meets the specific needs of hostels, from flexible bed allocation to handling large groups.

“ASSD has shaped Hostellerie for nearly four decades. Now I want to devote all my energy to where I see the greatest benefit for our customers: in our products,” says Andreas Stolz. “With Oliver Anschütz, I know that day-to-day operations are in the hands of someone who shares our values. Our customers will keep the same points of contact they’re used to, but will benefit from even greater innovation.”

    Two Specialists, One Family
Oliver Anschütz will remain managing director of SoftTec GmbH in Sonthofen. The two companies complement each other: With its “hotline” hotel software and “SoftTec Cloud” hotel software, SoftTec is primarily focused on the hospitality industry. ASSD specializes in hostels, youth hostels, and conference centers. Both companies are part of FORUM Family Office in Munich—SoftTec since 2020 and ASSD since July 2026. Closer integration is the logical next step.

Both companies have also followed a similar path: They started out with traditional, locally installed on-premises software. Today, both offer native cloud solutions: ASSD with the ASSD Hospitality Cloud 3.0, and SoftTec with the SoftTec Cloud Hotel Software. This experience from both worlds is now being incorporated into their joint development efforts.

“A hotel isn’t the same as a hostel, and that’s exactly why having two specialized solutions under one management is a real strength,” says Oliver Anschütz. “Whether it’s a private hotel in the Allgäu or a 200-bed youth hostel
catering to school groups: We can offer every establishment the solution that truly suits its needs. No compromises—just the perfect solution from a single source.”

What’s Changing and What’s Staying the Same
Both locations will remain in operation, as will all existing products. In the future, the platforms will be further developed to better serve their respective target audiences. Additional solutions, such as check-in kiosks, housekeeping apps, and payment systems, will be marketed and operated jointly. This will allow customers of both companies to benefit more quickly from new developments.

One thing remains unchanged—what customers have come to rely on since 1986 at SoftTec and since 1988 at ASSD: a partnership based on mutual respect, direct points of contact, local support, and continuous, customer-focused development.

“Trust is built on reliability,” emphasizes Oliver Anschütz. “We want our customers to see that we’ve grown stronger—not that our approach has changed.”

First Joint Appearance at ITB 2027
In the coming months, the focus will be on optimizing products and engaging in personal dialogue with customers. The first joint highlight will be ITB Berlin 2027, where ASSD and SoftTec will be exhibiting. There, both CEOs will present the next steps in the company’s development. Details about the trade show appearance will follow.
